Toronto’s Teen Improv Tournament

“As art imitates life, I have found that the techniques used in improv has improved my quick “respond on the spot” timing in social situations where there is that tiny window of time to interject with a humorous quip. Also, in work related situations dealing with disgruntled clients, I can diffuse a confrontation before it escalates into an argument. Improvisation classes are truly confidence building and the most endorphin releasing fun I have ever had in a long time.”

The Teen Improv Tournament has a new location at:
The Jester’s Court  (279 Queen Street, Port Perry)

Our 9th annual tournament was a huge success on Saturday April 21st, 2012…great job to all the teens and huge thanks to the supportive audience who packed the place. We’ll see you next year for the 10th annual tournament!

Our sponsors this year: Videoplex, Dominos Pizza, Method Boards and Apparel, and the Putting Edge!

We were thrilled to be part of the Durham Theatre Festival for our second year!

Every team receives prizes from sponsors and a chance to win the Tournament
“Champions” trophy!

Teams should be approx. 4-8 people.
Cost for tournament: one time fee of $5/participant Teams will receive:

A list of recommended games, and a break-down of the show format.

A panel of judges (professional improvisers) will be providing constructive critiques on
every game and will have a vote in who the outstanding team will be.

Who ultimately decides? The audience! A ballot is given with every ticket purchase, the team that brings in the most friends and family has the greater chance of winning!

Depending on how many teams will be playing on the day (6 teams maximum) you may just see the judges jump up and
do some “long-form” improv in the second half of the show!
