School, Corporate & Networking Workshops

“I thought it was really cool seeing 7 people acting like kids again. It was very good for the soul and ones true spirit. As the class went on I could definitely feel everyone becoming more comfortable with each other. Speaking for myself I really believe that improv is going to help me get in touch with my true self and definitely good for personal growth.”

Workshops can be tailored to fit your learning criteria. Some examples of past workshops: Toastmasters workshops that focused on enunciation, spontaneity, and physicality. Networking groups like Max International on perfecting the “cold call” and connecting with people faster. Corporate workshops for IMPAC, HLC Mortgage Brokers, and Guelph Health focused on listening skills and dealing with differing personalities.

Schools desire more focus on team building, supporting, confidence and imagination building.  Improv is a foundation of acting and yet there is a lack of improv in drama curriculums because it is such a specialized skill. Improv, at a professional level, is highly under-represented in schools. Teachers find this highly entertaining medium to be beneficial to boosting confidence, trusting instincts, role-playing, and character building. Workshops are a great way for the students to get hands on experience with a professional improviser while passing on games and exercises to the teachers.

Through the use of improvisational games and exercises, the group will:

  •  Learn to listen and communicate more effectively
  • Learn the “basics” of how to work off the top of your head
  • Perfect the concept of “Yes and…” (building ideas together)
  • Decrease “blocks” and “hedging”
  • Increase awareness: of others, of self, of situations and environment
  • Learn to “get out of your head” and act!
  • Increase creativity and provocative thought
